Twenty lovely golf courses on a beautiful island in Atlantic
Canada are now waiting to be discovered by Flying Blue Golf members. The
courses are located on Prince Edward Island (capital: Charlottetown),
only a short flight away from major airports like Toronto, Montreal and
Ottawa. Go visit these new Flying Blue Golf partners on this tiny speck
of green in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, book your tee times on here and expect a warm welcome on any of these courses!
Located on the east coast of Canada, Prince Edward Island (PEI)
produces about 80% of North America’s mussels, but that’s far from all.
As
well as being Canada’s greenest provice, PEI, also known as the Island,
is Canada’s smallest, with a population of 142,000. The island’s fresh
air, clean Atlantic waters and all-around natural beauty give a whole
new meaning to unspoilt.
Think about an island golf destination that has been voted number one in its nation – not once, but twice in a row. Imagine more than 26 golf programs on that island. Think about vistas of white, champagne, pink and pink seashores; or ocean waters extending far, far beyond the horizon. Imagine a day of golf that leads gracefully into a night of wonderful seafood eating at a 5-star golf resort.
The island isn’t Hilton Head, its Prince Edward Island.and the nation is, in fact, Canada.
GOLFPEI, the golf industry group on Canada’s Prince Edward Island recognises the power of media representation and has signed a partnership agreement with the European Golf & Travel Media Association to get access to the European media.
There are almost as many left handed golfers in Canada as right-handed. We all know Mike Weir, he being the most famous Canadian leftie after his 2003 US Masters win. Why I know this and why I am sharing this dinner table trivia is that recently I spent some time on Prince Edward Island. A tiny speck of green in the Gulf of St Lawrence and between New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and guess what … it’s full of left handed golfers.
